Stages of Fire

  1. Incipient stage is where the fire is about to initiate. At this stage, the fire is very easy to suppress with least damage.
  2. In the smoldering stage, there is miniscule time left before the flashover happens. Flashover is when the heating materials reach their ignition temperature and the flame is about to start. The fire is harder to control after this.
  3. The flame stage is where the actual fire spreads.
